The Pre-Prep department at Lyndhurst School consists of Year 1 and 2. We pride ourselves on our smaller inclusive class sizes. Each day in the life of a five, six- and seven-year-olds promises the discovery of new skills, expansion of knowledge and a variety of new experiences. All learning takes place in a supportive and nurturing environment which enables children to develop their self-confidence and self-esteem.
In Year 1, we lay the foundation for lifelong learning by fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love for discovery. Our focus is on developing essential skills in reading, writing, and mathematics through engaging, hands-on activities tailored to each child’s needs.
Year 2 is an exciting time of growth, where children continue to build upon their core skills with growing confidence and enthusiasm. We place a strong focus on advancing reading, spelling, and handwriting, alongside deepening mathematical understanding through engaging lessons and problem-solving activities.
