Testimonials

“I consider putting my children into Lyndhurst as one of the best decisions I have ever made.

The school is not elitist, genuinely takes children of all levels of ability, and then make it so no one sees the difference. All children are celebrated, all children achieve to their highest ability.

The teachers there are the kind of people who genuinely love their jobs – everyone at the school is passionately committed to your children, led by an outstanding head master who is extremely involved with each child and values building emotional intelligence as highly as academic achievements.

The range of subjects, activities and experience is unrivalled. All the children partake in sports, shows, play a musical instrument, the childcare is educational as well as fun. Neither of my children, have ever, in the last four years at Lyndhurst said they didn’t want to go to school today, I know that the start Lyndhurst has given them will set them up for life and as a parent I am eternally grateful.”

“A fantastic school! My son is now into his second year at Lyndhurst (reception) and it is one of the best decisions that we have made for him (and us). The school’s before and after care is second-to-none, and along with the wonderful teachers and staff means that my son very much enjoys his school day. His academic progress has been rapid, and he has access to a very wide variety of sports and extra-curricular activities. It has been an excellent choice of school.”

“As parents of two daughters currently in Pre/ Reception, we cannot recommend Little Lyndhurst highly enough. Since joining in September 2025, the transformation in our girls has been remarkable. At their previous nursery, mornings were a constant struggle; now, they literally skip through the gates with smiles on their faces. It is, without a doubt, one of the best decisions we have made for them”

“The staff’s dedication is unparalleled. At every parents’ evening, I am genuinely moved by the depth of their character assessments; they truly know and celebrate our daughters as individuals. The dynamic learning structure ensures that no two days are alike, leaving the girls energized and brimming with new knowledge. Even the ‘parent guilt’ of long days (8 am-6 pm) has vanished-in fact, on the days I pick them up early, they are genuinely disappointed to miss ‘Afternoon Tea’ with their friends. Little Lyndhurst is more than a school; it is a community where our children are thriving!”

“Our twins have been at Little Lyndhurst since April 2025. They absolutely love their time there and have grown so much since starting. They enjoy the holiday camps which as dual working parents are very useful to cover school holidays. We’ve been very happy with the school and they’ll be moving into reception in September which will give them excellent continuity. The reception class mixes with pre reception for many activities which means the transition to starting in full time reception will be a much easier process.

The school has a wonderful family feel and our children have been given such a wonderful start to their education in a really nurturing environment.”

“Our daughter absolutely loves Little Lyndhurst. We really appreciate the structure and breadth of opportunity which the children get. She loves music and French and really enjoys the excellent outdoor play facilities. The teachers are professional and kind and have built up really strong relationships with her. She brings home lovely crafts and really enjoys the stories and reading that Lyndhurst encourages. She has honestly had such a lovely time there. We are very grateful we sent her.”

“Signing my daughter up to Pre-Reception was the best decision I have ever made. It’s so much more than just childcare from 8am – 6pm. The structure of the day (with a school timetable and proper lessons) is so beneficial preparing the little ones for the big school – Reception. My daughter has already learnt phonics, she is learning how to form letters correctly and she has been using basic Maths skills in real life situations. Furthermore, she has PE, French and Drama with specialist teachers. The staff are wonderful, kind, caring, helpful and encourage the children’s independence. Little Lyndhurst children have daily opportunities to socialise, have Afternoon Tea with older children and they know all the teachers from the main school which makes it so much easier for the transition and going up to Reception and then Year 1, etc. I asked my daughter what her favourite thing about Little Lyndhurst is and she said, “Lunch”! That shows that food is amazing too!”

Our daughter has absolutely thrived in Years 3 at Lyndhurst School. The step into Prep felt so well supported, and the balance of specialist teaching alongside exciting learning experiences has really helped her confidence grow. The trip to Horseshoe Lake was a real highlight — she came home full of stories about teamwork, adventure, and trying things she never thought she would. It was lovely to see her so independent and happy away from home for the first time. We’ve been so impressed with how the school builds both skills and character at this stage.”

“Year 5 has been such a special year for our son at Lyndhurst School. We’ve really noticed him grow up in so many ways — he’s more confident, more focused, and genuinely excited about what he’s learning.

He’s loved the variety the school offers, from sport fixtures and LAMDA to music, drama, and school performances. It’s given him so many chances to try things he might not have otherwise done, and it’s been lovely to see him find his confidence in different areas.

The residential trip to Runway’s End was a real highlight for him. He came back buzzing — tired, but proud of himself, more independent, and full of stories about working as a team and pushing himself out of his comfort zone.

It really does feel like a year where everything starts to come together, both academically and personally.”
