It has been a fantastic year in the drama department.
The Autumn term saw nativity plays being performed. The Early years performed ‘A Little Nativity’ and years 1 & 2 gave two performances of ‘The Angel who nearly missed it all’.
In the spring term years 4 & 6 performed their production of ‘Wonderland’, which they also took to the I.S.A. drama festival where they won the award for best musical and best individual performance for our amazing ‘Alice’.
Lyndhurst School is proud to be a LAMDA examination centre. LAMDA exams were taken by 31 Lyndhurst children in May. 10 children passed with merit and an amazing 21 children passed with a distinction.
There have also been Perform drama workshops, the French and Spanish assemblies and class showcases.
Mrs Draper is retiring and passing the baton on to Mrs Whitehead. In her time as head of drama at Lyndhurst Loretta has produced an amazing 33 productions and put 130 children through LAMDA exams. In addition to teaching over 5,000 drama lessons. After all that she deserves a well-earned rest, but she is confident that she is leaving the drama department in very capable hands. We would like to thank Mrs Draper for all of her hard work and dedication over the years and we wish her a very happy retirement!
