Years 4, 5 and 6 wrote the letters to King Charles after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. They sent their condolences and put themselves in the royal shoes, telling the King how they would feel if a member of their family died. They praised him for the courage and strength to carry on with his duties and congratulated him for becoming the Head of State. The letters were sent before the Queen’s funeral; therefore, the children told the King they were grateful for having a day off for spending it with their loved ones and paying their respect to the late Queen. Each Lyndhurst pupil put their best effort into their letter making sure they used formal, respectful language and their best handwriting. We are all delighted to receive the response from the Palace.
