Everywhere we look, we see children reading – looks like the Readathon is working and encouraging Lyndhurst pupils to spend more time with their books!
We would like to say a big thank you to Katie, Katie Book Lady (usborne.com), for helping us have a fantastic day celebrating Reading Day. There were shared reading sessions amongst different year groups, which all the children loved and also DEAR sessions (Drop Everything And Read) carried out by members of staff. Katie launched a sponsored read amongst the children. They have been encouraged to get sponsorship for reading as much as possible and this is really motivating the children to read for longer and more often, helping to nurture their love for reading! Maybe parents will join in and spend this week with a book too?
