This week a group of year 4 children took part in the annual Greenfield English Competition, hosted by Greenfield School in Woking. This year the event was held online, with the children going up against 12 other schools over eight rounds of tricky questions – including a round on Cockney Rhyming Slang – culminating in a creative writing challenge.
Tilly, Jasmine, Zoravar and Sofia were selected to represent the school and gave a fantastic account of themselves, showing impressive knowledge of English idioms as well as flexing their creative writing muscles by using lots of impressive figurative language.
All of the children had a great time and worked brilliantly as a team. Well done!
