The Christmas season is upon us! Lyndhurst has held its annual House Christmas Tree Decorating Competition. What a great time the children had working together in their houses from Reception to Year 6. This year each house has stepped up their game – the trees are amazing! Deacon Hall is so festive right now.
Lyndhurst children have entered Spotlight UK creative competition. The theme this year is “Out of the Darkness”. The children thought about what it means to be coming out of the darkness to them. They considered different meanings about this theme such as being lost in woods, mental health or covid.
Year 5 have immersed themselves in their history topic this term and have produced some delightful presentations on different Victorian inventions. The thought about which invention has had the most impact on our world today. The light bulb was the winning invention.
Year 6 got to grips with technology this week in Photography club. They practised positioning of items, taking shots from different angles and using effects to change the look of a picture.
Our resilient and hardy children in Reception were not put off by the recent cold snap, they loved getting to grips with the great outdoors in their latest LEAF session. Working together was key as was enjoying the fresh air nature and having lots of fun.
It is so nice to have an audience back for our nativity plays this year. On Thursday 2nd December Litle Lyndhurst performed their production of ‘The Innkeeper’s Breakfast’. Year 6 children thoroughly enjoyed and embraced their outdoor learning session this week. They perfected their den building skills and got to work whittling. They are all gaining brilliant outdoor skills, determination and teamwork.
Pupils have loved attending their clubs this week. Creative club have been making these delightful snowmen inspired of course by the festive season. They look beautiful! Elsewhere in origami it’s been raining cats and dogs, very impressive!
